Normally, Crystal's around-the-world voyages begin and end in either Florida or California (or both; the line sometimes offers the option of joining its world cruises in either state as the ship makes it way around the world). The cruise line had previously suspended sailings for several months after its parent company, Genting Hong Kong, declared bankruptcy in January 2022. The A&K Travel Group, which owns the luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent, acquired the Crystal Cruises brand last year along with its Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity ships, which have been refurbished with larger suites and revamped amenities. It’s worth noting that A&K already has robust Arctic and Antarctic expedition offerings, which sail on Ponant’s Le Commandant Charcot.
